  • This was just a test episode for Nickelodeon. Nick rarely ever airs their pilots, so not airing this is no suprise. However, it will make it to the Internet someday.
  • There was a 3-D Test done of the food fight sequence.
  • Billy West did the voice of Zim here, instead of Richard Horvitz.
  • During Nick's early Zim commercials, there were some clips from this episode.

    The Nightmare Begins

    Operation Impending Doom II is now being held for the Irken Invaders. The Almighy Tallest have planned Impending Doom II so the same accident that happened in Doom I doesn't happen. ZIM, the one who caused the accident found out about this, and insisted he be part of it. Since the Tallest are so sick of Zim, they send him to an "unknown planet" (that they don't even know about.) This planet just happens to be Earth. And Zim's mission begins.
  • Ms. Bitters is the same teacher in "Squee!".
  • The robot Zim used to destoy Irk is called "The Battle Mech 4."

    Parent Teacher Night

    It's Parent/Teacher Night at skool, and Zim must use his Robo-Parents. He shows them a video program of how to be good parents, but when he leaves the room, GIR turns it off and begins watching some his favorite shows, which gets put into the Robo-Parents' brains. When they arrive, horrible things begin to happen.

    Zim upgrades GIR's artificial intelligence, so he can guide them out of anything. To test it, Zim and GIR go out into the nearby city and get as lost as they possibly can, and let GIR lead them out. But GIR leaves the chip at home.
  • When Zim is blinded by the sun, and begins to wait to see again, you can see a huge "Z?" on the wall, which means "Question Sleep."
  • In the bus scene, when the cab goes by, these signs go by really fast: "Stop Making Babies", "The Goat Whats You", "Pawn Shop: Buy or be Sad", "Bus/Not Bug", "Warm the Globe", "Love or Die", "Hate!!!", "Insurance!".

  • After September 11, this episode was almost banned, but Nick thought about it some more and decide to just edit down the episode so it was less harmful.

    The Most Horrible Xmas Ever

  • The story behind this episode: Yeah, this is actually episode 27, not episode 29. But when Zim was canceled, 13 episodes were left unfinished, and this one was going to be, too. But Jhonen begged them to allow them to finish this one first, and they agreed. The reason Minimoose is in this episode is because Nubs of Doom was episode 28B, and this is 29. Because of this, Minimoose has "been with Zim the whole time." This episode was supposed to be the last to air, but it aired first as the season 2 premier.
  • This episode was originally going to be called "The Most Horrible Christmas Ever", but Nick made them change it to "Xmas". Hmm...

    Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars

  • This episode takes place almost entirely in one room. The camera angle stays the same for pretty much the whole episode.
  • This was a "throwaway" episode that was made so the staff could use the money they had for bigger episodes down the road, like The Trial.

    Roboparents Gone Wild

    Mr. Elliot is running an orphanage program, and Zim and Dib are forced to join. The orphans learn the game "Simon Says", and Zim uses this to his advantage. He says "Simon says destroy everything!", and doom happens.

    Zim tricks Dib into thinking Poonchy (a classmate) is another Irken Invader. But soon Zim begins to believe it himself, and tries to destroy Poonchy in fear of him ruining the mission.
  • This episode was set to be completed on Janurary 18, 2002. The show was canceled on Janurary 17, 2002. If Nick had canceled the show one day later, this episode, along with Nubs of Doom would have been completed and shown.

    Return of Keef

    Gir goes out to get some cleaning things for Zim, and gets hit by a truck. The truck drivers are surprised GIR survived and thinks he's a wonderdog. Scientists end up doing tests on him, and try to clone him, but donut crumbs also accidently get into the DNA.

    Zim loses his Pak, which is needed for him to survive. If he doesn't get it back in 10 minutes, he will die. Dib does all he can to keep Zim from putting it back on.
  • When Zim was canceled, the crew wanted to finish this episode to an ending with Zim dying and mark that as the series finale, but Nick didn't allow it, just incase they renewed the show. Note that the original ending had Zim living. He does live in the script.

But the Tallest don't know Skoodge is on Earth with Zim, and Skoodge would get in trouble. So Zim goes, and causes a war to begin.
  • At the time of cancelation, this episode did not have an official title. However, the fanbase has named it "Battle for Meekrob."

    Part 2 of a 2-part season finale. The war has begun. Other races of aliens begin to fight against the Irkens, including the Resisty from Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars. Dib wonders about Zim being gone, and begins to explore his base and finds out about the war. Skoodge frees Tenn. They escape, and Zim is left. Dib arrives (probably by using the Dib Ship), and begins to fight against the Irkens as well. Dib is named ambassador for Meekrob, and Zim is doomed.
